After achieving significant success with the Renova Zero in 2020, Vaporesso recently launched an upgraded version to push the boundaries of what's possible: the Zero 2. It's hard not to be impressed at first glance by the Vaporesso Zero 2's design. It resembles a miniature sports car, embodying a modern intersection between aesthetics and ergonomics.
Of course, the Vaporesso Zero 2 has made significant strides in other areas, including pod capacity and battery life. The updated Zero 2 can hold 3ml of vape flavors, 1ml more than the original Renova Zero. It also lasts longer thanks to its 800mAh battery, a 150mAh jump in capacity. Only the output range remains the same—still 9W or 11W depending on the coil used.
We've conducted weeks of testing on the Vaporesso Zero 2 to build a more comprehensive view of the new open pod system. This review covers all the pros and cons of the device from every perspective. By the way, we've highlighted the aspects we like in green, and the ones we don't like in red, for your convenience. Let's get started!
Performance and Flavor:
The Vaporesso Zero2 offers two replacement pods in the kit, one equipped with a 1.3Ω ceramic coil and the other with a 1.0Ω mesh pod. The pod is clearly designed more for MTL vaping, which is widely welcomed by vaping beginners.
My Personal Experience:
After adding flavor to the coil and waiting two minutes for the coil to absorb the liquid, the flavor began to burst in our mouths after the coils had absorbed a sufficient amount of liquid, showing no noticeable decrease in intensity until the final vape. We didn't notice any burning taste throughout the test. In fact, we were confident in this point before using it, as the Vaporesso ceramic and mesh coils didn't disappoint.
The Vaporesso device is far from a dedicated pod system, as all of its settings are pre-programmed. It doesn't have adjustable airflow or flexible power output. When using a 1.0Ω mesh coil, the power automatically adjusts to a fixed 11 watts, dropping to 9 watts when using a 1.3Ω ceramic coil.
However, we did find some subtle differences between the two coils. For example, the draw is more airy and flexible than the ceramic pod. Furthermore, the mesh coil produces warmer, smoother vapors. The ceramic pod brings out more sweetness and gives us a greater throat hit, making it more suitable for multi-stage vaping (MTL).
Quality and Design:
If you're tired of the traditional design of pod devices, the Vaporesso Zero2 is the perfect choice for you. It features a design resembling a compact sports car, perfectly integrated with its radiant body. Even the surface patterns may vary depending on the lighting. The Zero 2 also features four arrow-shaped lights on its front panel to indicate battery level, which flash sequentially as you take a puff. This innovative design is quite rare among current vape devices.
At the same time, the curves and lines of the pod are smooth and streamlined, giving it a very comfortable grip. We know how difficult it is to achieve a good balance between looks and ergonomics, but the Vaporesso Zero 2 outperforms traditional pod devices in both respects.
As mentioned earlier, the Vaporesso Zero 2 range comes with two different pods equipped with different coils. Both offer a tight seal in the flavor, and we didn't experience any leaks at all throughout our testing. The Zero 2's transparent pods make it easy to check the remaining e-liquid inside.
Furthermore, the pods utilize Vaporesso's innovative Push-To-Fill (PTF) system, which eliminates the traditional rubber caps on the filling port. The port looks like a funnel, opening when pressure is applied downward from the tip of the shisha flavor and closing when the pressure is released. The special filling design has proven highly successful in several previous Vaporesso devices, such as the Renova Zero and Click. It's a clever idea to avoid the mess caused by liquid buildup.
Battery:
Compared to the Vaporesso Renova Zero, the Zero 2 has a significant jump in battery capacity, from 650mAh to 800mAh. Furthermore, the original Zero's micro-USB charging port has been replaced with a Type-C port, which offers a higher charging current and is easier to install. It's worth noting that the Vaporesso Zero 2's fast charging is impressive—it takes about 40 minutes to fully charge the device.
Ease of Use:
Since the Vaporesso Zero 2 has no buttons or switchable operating modes, anyone can use it with ease. It's the easiest pod device ever.
However, from another perspective, this superior ease of operation must be accompanied by a sacrifice in customizability. The Vaporesso Zero 2 offers only two fixed outputs: 9 watts for the 1.3-ohm pod and 11 watts for the 1.0-ohm pod. These are presets with no adjustments. We know the Renova Zero is also a very practical device, but at least both pods are designed with three watts, and we can choose between them with the push of a button.
The good news is that both Vaporesso Zero 2 pods are compatible with the Renova Zero. If you own the original device, investing in the Zero 2 will open up new possibilities for you.

General Opinion and Ratings:
The Vaporesso Zero 2 represents a perfect blend of aesthetic design and outstanding performance. It's a user-friendly pod system—all we have to do is take puffs from the mouthpiece. We're also impressed by all the improvements it offers compared to the original Renova Zero. The biggest drawback of the Vaporesso Zero 2 is its lack of customization, as we can't adjust its output power and modes.
Conclusion:
The Vape Store offers all kinds of Vaporesso products, including the Vaporesso Zero 2, which is considered the best-selling and most sought-after device for many customers. Shop for everything you need.
